My Lists

Shortie A-List – I prefer Mark Twain’s essays over Huck Finn. I liked Jhumpa Lahiri’s Interpreter of Maladies better than The Namesake. I love Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury and Edgar Allan Poe. Here is a rundown of my favorites, both classic and contemporary.

Indie A-List – In an effort to broaden my network of fellow contemporary writers, I have invested more time lately in reading & reviewing other independent authors. My goal is to discover and “collect” my personal favorite authors whose voice and talent rival those in the mainstream. Of the dozens I’ve come across, here is my shortlist of the best & brightest literary artists peddling their wordy wares today.

Book v. Movie SLAM! – Most avid readers cry “Blasphemy!” upon hearing any claim that a movie adaptation has bested the author’s book. I disagree. As a voracious consumer of both, I can tell you that while most movies fail to capture the breadth and subtlety of a novel, others breathe life into a flat idea.

Favorite TED Talks – I love TED Talks! Like many other types of media (books, music, movies), I love that my own personal collection of favorite TED Talks uniquely identifies my tastes and passions. Please enjoy these recommendations!
